I love blogging and I love being a mum. On top of these, I work as a freelance writer and have a dog with recurring colitis. To say that my days are busy, is a bit of an understatement. There are times when I struggle to fit everything in and these are often the days where we end up having a quick ‘bung it in the oven day’. I am, however, determined to keep all the cogs turning and post new blog posts several times a week. So, I thought I’d share with you my current daily blogging schedule.
Blogging linkies are a great way to get your content seen, make blogger friends and discover new blogs. I try to join four or five of them week, although, there was a time I was joining double that figure. Most linkies open in the morning, so, I aim to join as early as I can. I used to join and do all my commenting straight away. However, I now usually comment a day or so later. Thankfully, it doesn’t take too long to link up, tweet and add the linky badge to my post so I can usually get away with doing it when Little E is playing with her toys.
Writing new content
I currently write most of my content laying on the bedroom floor, waiting for my daughter to go to sleep. Writing on my phone isn’t the quickest way to get a post drafted, but it works for me. I used to write my posts during her nap times, but, I now use that time to work. I actually find I more focused the way I’m currently doing it. For example, during our first week of sleep training, I drafted a new post every evening.
Finishing touches and scheduling
There’s only so much blogging you can do on your phone. One day a week, I review everything I’ve drafted, edit it and proof read it and add photos to my posts. I then schedule it to go live and set up a couple of tweets on socialoomph to promote my post once it hits my blog.
