Mummy tells me it’s Christmas soon and I must write you a letter. This is my first Christmas and I’m not really sure what it means, but Mummy and Daddy are very excited for my first Christmas, so I’m feeling that way too.
There’s a large tree in our living room covered in glitter and lights and tinsel and shiny balls. Now that I can crawl, I make sure I aim for the tree at every chance I get. There are chocolate snowmen hanging off the branches, tempting me every minute of every day. Just as I’m about to grab one, Mummy or Daddy sweep me up and plonk me back on the floor on the other side of the room!
Santa, I’ve seen your picture. You’re a big, friendly guy with a long white beard, a big tummy and a jolly laugh. You have little friends called elves and pet reindeers who help you out. I have a pet dog who makes me laugh when he wags his tail and licks my ear! Do your reindeers do that to you?
I’ve tried to be a good girl this year, but sometimes I get pains in my tummy or my teeth hurt and I can’t help but scream and cry. And I know I shouldn’t put the dog’s toys in my mouth, but he does it, so why I can’t I?
I hope I have a great first Christmas with my family, Santa, and if you could bring me a Teletubby and some toys that would be great. Oh, and I’d love some teeth so I can stop eating mush!
Lots of Love!
I don’t want to be greedy but there’s a few things I’d like for Christmas please. The first is to stop my little one from growing up so quickly. She’s 7 months and already the baby days are a distant memory. She’s been crawling for almost a month already and is so independent – when she doesn’t want to sit on my lap or be where I’ve put her, she makes it quite clear! So, please can you slow time down, just a little?
Next, I’d like our Christmas tree to remain in one piece. We only bought it two years ago and little one has tried to grab it countless times already. It’s a very pretty tree with glitter tips and I’d very much like for it to last a few more years! So, if you could have a word with little one about it, that would be great. Believe me, I’ve tried and there’s just no reasoning with her, so maybe you’ll have more luck!
I’ve saved the biggest thing until last – sleep! Please, please, please make my little one sleep. Her sleeping pattern is all over the place that I don’t know whether I’m coming or going. She’ll sleep through for a few nights and I think ‘Yes, we’ve cracked it!’ then it all goes to pot a few nights later.
I think that’s it, Santa. Thanks ever so much!
